Is it for me?
This is really two questions - am I eligible for equity release, and is equity release right for me.
Am I eligible for an equity release plan?
If you can answer 'yes' to the three questions below, you are almost certainly eligible for an equity release plan:
- Do you own your own home?
- Is it worth at least £60,000?
- Are you (or you and your partner) over 55?
Is equity release right for me?
Equity release is a long-term financial commitment and you need to be absolutely sure that it is the best option for you, so this is a much harder question to answer.
There could be other, more appropriate, options available to you, for example you might be able to move to a smaller home, get local authority grants or take loans from your family.
If you have existing investments, it will usually make more sense to use them first before starting an equity release plan.
All these areas, and others, we look into before recommending a course of action for you. Fill in the brief questionnaire and we will contact you.
